Description

Palomar 4 is a small globular cluster in UMa. The size of the cluster is 2,1 arcmin only with brightest Stars mag 18! He is in a distance of 330.000 Lj which is farther away than the Magellanic clouds. This is a combination of pictures from 2020 and 2022.

There are 15 such clusters on the Palomar list, all of them a challenge.

The bright and almost big Galaxy at the bottom of the field ist 2MFGC 8985 from the Simbad catalog. The size of the Galaxy is 30 x 9 arcsec only!!

The wider field of view can be seen here:   https://astrob.in/2nwrrz/0/

I made the same area already in 2020  under excellent sky conditions (21.5mag)  Its interesting to see almost same kind of picture with half integration time!
